Press Release:

Digital Age highlights art that has been altered and/or inspires by the power of computers and new and highly accessible technologies.

A few decades ago, computers were so large they filled entire rooms and solved fairly simple equations. Today, lightening fast technologies have opened the door to everything from pocket-sized digital cameras and mobile laptops to the internet, text messaging and Email. Open access to such media has been instrumental to every discipline imaginable.

The word “digital” means information that is available in electronic form, readable and manipulated by computer. For many artists, new media has been helpful in art making and marketing. With programs like Photoshop, Illustrator and other creative imaging software and techniques, an image can be taken from its original state and changed into something new – reborn with new meaning.

The “Digital Age” has changed the way society conducts business and how humanity communicates. This exhibition shows how technology has impacted the way of thinking and creating for today’s artist.
