PhotoREAListic FAKE Fur Bigfoot is a recent work that I’ll be showing in a local exhibition called Monsters, opening at ellO Gallery in Portsmouth, NH this Friday at 5 pm.

As the title suggests, this is a pixilated image of the most well known alleged photographic evidence of bigfoot, made out of pieces of colored fake furs.

Here is the original image, from the famous 1967 Patterson film, that I worked from:

I’ve also got another work in the show called Paparazzi Trophy, which is a sculpture of Paris Hilton’s head made out of paparazzi photographs downloaded from the internet, printed on canvas, stitched together and mounted on a wooden panel.

So far the reactions have been pretty funny so I’m looking forward to seeing the show when all the work is up…

fame and fortune…and failure

Last year, when I was an artist-in-residence at The Mantua Project (Co. Roscommon, Ireland), I entered a song in the Today FM “beat the original” song competition. The competition was to see who could make a cover version of “Teenage Kicks” by the Undertones (if you haven’t hung around in Ireland or the UK you probably don’t know it but it’s an amazing tune) that was better than the original, or really, that was better than the rest of the entries. The prize was 800 Euro and an interview on the radio or something. I got some help from some of my friends out there in the Mantua Project, our plan was to stand out by creating a very memorable rendition of the song. We didn’t win or get played on the radio so I decided to put it on here for posterity.

Now please enjoy “Teenage Kicks” as interpreted by The MANTUA Collective:
